July Press Release for the 2011 Degrassi Nation Awards

Minneapolis, Minn.– Remember the days when we were peeing our pants in anticipation for the inaugural Degrassi Nation Awards? I know I was. Believe it or not, those days of pissing yourself will return, as the 2011 Degrassi Nation Awards return in just over 5 months on December 28th at 8e/5p with the Nomination Special airing exactly one week earlier on December 21st. And with any show, the goal is to make each year even better than the last and that is the case with this show.

As of right now, you already know the tentative plan to be in Kenya with Charlotte Arnold and Ray Ablack. You also know we will be live in Minneapolis for the show, but now we plan on giving you a Red Carpet pre-show at 7:50e/4:50p to get you ready for the show. Additionally we have two fan awards (one new) that you can win. Read the description and rules to be elible for each award very carefully below:

Last years winner, unfortunutely went to a bunch of girls fangirling over Luke Bilyk. As much as I hated it, it deserved to win because it was really funny! For this, all you need to do is make the video funny, creative and entertaining. I will chose the best 4 and have a 100% fan voting. Last year, I lucked out and found a great singer, Emily Alvarado! She was so good, and although I’d love to have her back, we both decided we should give someone else a chance. This year I want tons more fan involvement. Whether its for a few seconds, or more than that I don’t know. BUT I want you all to know that A LOT of you will make it on the show. I do, however want this show to be classy…well classier than last year. So we plan on having everybody wearing award-esque clothing. Your Mom would approve.

Finally, and probably my favorite bit of news, Kary, from DegrassiBlog.com will be hosting Degrassi TRL as he will be giving away Best Degrassi Song.
